The BSMA is committed to respecting your privacy. The BSMA website does not contain any cookies, and we do not collect any information from the website that reveals anything about yourself.

Personal Data

If you chose to apply to the BSMA grant, and send us personal information, we will respect your privacy and not reveal any of your personal data to external sources. The names of successful applicants may be posted on this website, but no other details will be revealed. We will take appropriate steps to protect the information you share with us from unauthorised access or disclosure.

Commitment

We are committed to privacy and data protection, but no data protection system is foolproof. If you have any concerns regarding our privacy policy, please contact secretary@bsma-uk.org.uk. We will address any issue to the best of our abilities.                                                                                        

Application Criteria and Requirements

The deadline for the receipt of completed applications is  (month)……..

Prospective candidates must be under thirty five (35) years of age on (month)……. in the year of the study visit.

The application form and addresses for applications can be found here. A shortlist of all applicants is submitted to the BSMA Executive Committee (EC) each year. The final selection of candidates for the forthcoming  year is made in early (month)……… Successful candidates will be notified by the end of (month)……The duration of intended stay for research or study will be 1 (one) month or longer depending on the type study/research.

The main criteria for the final selection of the candidates are:

  • Merit (academic achievement)
  • Command of English
  • Your ability to complete your proposed research or study project during your stay in the UK.
  • The potential benefit of the visit to your research (clinical practice) and your home institution.

Preference is given to candidates who have not previously studied abroad.

The BSMA EC can provide basic advice about obtaining visas where necessary but travel expenses to the UK and to the British place of education will be borne by the students or, if employed, by their own institution.

BSMA Executive Committee will provide host institution permit for the duration of research (study), organize necessary administrative checks and other logistical matters and help with finding the appropriate accommodation.   

Please remember that the BSMA EC cannot pay tuition fees for taught courses. If any additional fees are required, these must be agreed in advance before starting the visit or be subtracted from the grant. Preference is given to visitors engaged on research projects, based in their home country.

The grants are:

£1200 per month in London

£1000 per month in the rest of the UK

Application Procedure

   

Applications must be made in Serbia or Republika Srpska.

To apply please send the following items to the relevant address below.

  • the completed application form
  • a detailed curriculum vitae
  • a description of the proposed research or study
  • a copy of your university diploma or other relevant qualifications
  • proof of adequate knowledge of English
  • two confidential academic or clinical references
