The ESA board of directors has recently been posed a very serious challenge: What is holding women back from leadership roles in medicine and is there a way we can make a difference?
The ESA is committed to striving for a better gender balance within the leading positions in anesthesiology. A task force has been appointed to explore the factors that are responsible for the gender imbalance within our community and to develop strategies to come to an equal gender distribution.
The first step is to understand the current situation and identify which factors influence the gender imbalance in leadership positions.
